Join us for the "Linden Faith Walk" event on Saturday May 4th, 7PM at LFM Church. We will be led by Dan & Karen Fernelius with the Living Notes Band providing music, as well as facilitating dynamic live and video testimonies by Jesus-followers.
Our purpose is to celebrate the born-again life together and to invite others to come into relationship with Jesus to experience life with real meaning! We encourage you to share your personal “Faith Walk” in the comment card below, which will be posted after review, inspiring other people to share their stories.
Please participate in prayer with us as we expect to be blessed and encouraged by the Holy Spirit!
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19–20 (NLT)

My Faith Walk - Diana Price
As a young child I’ve always been intrigued about God and heaven, a sweet place where there’s no conflict or pain. I prayed often asking God serious questions, why am I here? And how do I get to heaven? I was almost 6 years old when I started asking these questions. Sadly, I was never given an answer to my satisfaction and concluded that I needed to work very hard to get into heaven. As a young teen, I had the opportunity to go to a Christian camp, Lake Louise Camp in Vanderbilt, MI., it was a beautiful place! We had vespers at the lake every night. Pastor Case shared that evening, He held a beautifully wrapped gift with a bow. He asked all of us, “If I were to give this gift to you, would you take it?” Most of us answered, Yes! He continued to tell us that it’s not by our works that we get to heaven, but it’s by asking God to forgive our sins and to believe in Jesus, God in human form, and accept His gift of eternal life. The pastor told us that Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, and He died for you! This sounded all too simple to me. I had always worked hard for everything; I thought if it were that easy why isn’t everyone accepting Him? After a deeper explanation of salvation was presented, the pastor ended vespers quoting these verses, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.” Romans 10:9-10, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.
After vespers, it was dark and most of the kids ran off to play. I stood there looking across the lake, it was like a lightbulb went on. I finally understood. I knew something about sacrifice. I knew from my Sunday School classes that Jewish people sacrificed lambs for their sins. Jesus sacrificed Himself for me on the cross. He shed His blood on the cross in my place. I kept saying to myself, “He did for me!” What a profound moment in my life to think of the depth of His love that reached down to me. I was in awe, still looking across the lake, then looking up at the starry sky. I asked Jesus to come into my heart. A peaceful calm washed over me, I felt as if I were taking a deep breath for the first time. I felt different, there was a change in me. I found a camp counselor and shared what I had done. I was lovingly prayed over. I felt as if I had died and was raised up with new life in me. Well, that’s exactly what happened. I changed; I’ve been a Christian now for 50 plus years. Christ is real, His Word is true, you can depend on Him in every situation. Jesus will complete you. He died for you and everyone who ever lived, past present and future. His blood extends to everyone. We are all in need of a savior. God’s sacrifice will make you new. Accept His Word, accept His blood that covers it all. Ask God’s forgiveness and surrender your heart to Jesus. ~Diana
