Simple but Good

One little verse jumped off the page in my devotional reading this morning, and I just had to share!  We often make things unnecessarily complicated.  Buckle your seat belt because this one is short, sweet, and comprehensive.  Ready?  Read this: "Carefully determine what pleases the Lord." Ephesians 5:10 (NLT).  Boom!  "Carefully" is swarming with intentionality.  "Determine" means there is a choice that is crying to be made.  The criteria for the right choice is "what pleases the Lord."  The fact that there is no association with a particular thought, word, or deed means it is for every single thought, word, or deed.  Imagine if the followers of Jesus made a commitment to pass every thing before this standard (which is plainly revealed in the Bible)?  What if you made that commitment?
